From My Hands to Yours

I'm Amelia - the maker behind Handpicked Ceramics.

I create tiny ceramic mushrooms for plant lovers, indoor gardeners, and anyone who could use a little joy on their windowsill. Every piece is handmade with love in my home studio and designed to spark delight, nostalgia, and curiosity. My partner Drew Bardana and I converted our nineteenth century garage into two studios and a workshop. It has been a long process but we are so grateful for the space to pursue our passions! 

What started as weekend trips mushroom hunting turned into a full-blown obsession: shaping miniature fungi in every color of the rainbow and imagining the little worlds they might belong to. 

I've always loved working with my hands and being close to nature. Mushrooms, especially, have a way of feeling both grounded and otherworldly - like nature's little secret. They remind me to slow down, look closely, and find magic in everyday things.

Handpicked Ceramics grew from that love - plus a lot of clay under my fingernails, audible series on repeat, and many, many spicy kiln firings! 

Each mushroom is formed by hand, glazed in joyful color, and finished with a wire stem so it can be nestled into your favorite potted plant or hidden garden. No two are exactly alike, which makes each tiny everlasting mushroom take on its own character.
